“From the start of the match it was a back and forth battle with hustle plays happening on both side of the net,” reported Brandon-Evansville Head Coach Kelly Olson. “While our defense kept us neck and neck throughout the first set, scrambling and taking care of the ball in order to keep plays alive, we fell short falling 23-25. Our fight carried over to the second set, and our defense continued to carry us. Along with our defense, our serving game improved and became more aggressive, proving to be the difference in the two sets and we were able to tie things up in the second set winning 25-23. With a tough loss in the third set going Parkers way, we were able to piece things together a little quicker in the fourth set to tie things up 2-2 and bring us to a fifth set. Between Taylor Suchy, Olivia Otto and Taylor Yeats, our back row continued to make the tough plays, hustle and gave it their all in the back court. While our front row put in the work defensively as well getting hands on the ball and getting touches throughout the match, we ultimately fell short.”

Defensive leaders were Suchy (27 digs), Otto (26 digs), Yeats (26 digs), Sydney Schaefer (15 digs, 37 set assists), Kylee Dingwall (14 digs) and Gretchen Bredberg (7 digs).

Dingwall led the attack at the net with 18 kills and one block.  EmmaLee Brethorst added 10 kills, Schaefer had 7 kills and Yeats contributed 7 kills and 3 blocks.  Bredberg chipped in with 6 kills and one block.

Brethorst (15/18, 3 aces), Bredberg (21/22, 2 aces), Otto (17/18, 1 ace) and Schaefer (20/20, 1 ace) were the serving leaders for the Chargers.  Yeats was 20-for-22 at the serving line.

“It’s always hard to have the season come to an end, especially at home, but we are proud of the improvement and drive the girls have exhibited throughout the season,” added Coach Olson. “We wish Parkers the best of luck going forward with their season.”

No Parkers Prairie stats were reported.  The Panthers will play top seeded Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa on Friday night.
