The Fergus Falls volleyball season ended in Perham on Wednesday night when the Yellowjackets prevailed in a hard-fought five set match with the Otters.  Perham opened the match with a 25-22 win, but Fergus Falls got the second set 25-19.  A 25-14 win in set 3 by the Yellowjackets gave them a 2-1 advantage, however, the Otters won a tight fourth set 25-23 to square the match at 2-2.  Perham recorded a 15-6 win in the fifth set to move on to the quarterfinals and eliminate the Otters.

“Our girls played with a lot of heart tonight, and they never gave up,” said Fergus Falls Head Coach Sabrina Noon.  “We had some great defensive plays.  We struggled to stay on our offense at time and that is what hurt us the most.”

Leaders for the Otters were Jenna Carlson (4 aces, 6 kills, 12 digs, 1 block), Karyssa Eberle (1 kill, 15 assists, 8 digs), Tori Ratz (1 ace, 9 kills, 14 assists, 10 digs, 1 block), Ava Uhrich (4 digs, 1 block, 1 kill), Lizzy Moxness (8 kills, 2 blocks), Emma Stans (2 aces, 14 digs, 1 kill), Avery Knutson (12 digs, 1 kill), Olivia King (1 kill, 1 block) and Solvie Smestad (2 kills, 2 digs).

No Perham stats were reported.  The Yellowjackets will now go to Barnesville on Friday night.
