Stueve Scores 3 TD's to Lead OTC Past Walker-Hackensack-Akeley

Calvin Stueve ran for 120 yards and three touchdowns to key the Ottertail Central Bulldogs 42-7 win over Walker-Hackensack-Akeley in the opening round of the Section 6A high school football playoffs on Tuesday night in Henning.  OTC had 363 total yards (285 rushing, 78 passing) on the night.

Tyler Christensen scored the first touchdown of the night on a one yard run but the extra point kick was blocked and OTC held a 6-0 lead.  They increased their lead to 14-0 on a 5 yard run by Stueve and a two-point conversion pass from Tanner Arndt to Owen Buehler.  A 37 yard run by Stueve and two-point conversion run by Mason Hammer put the Bulldogs ahead 22-0 at the end of the first quarter.

A pair of second quarter TD’s, the first on a 47 yard pass to Buehler from Arndt and the second a 5 yard run by Stueve, followed by successful extra-point kicks after each TD, gave the Bulldogs a halftime lead of 36-0.

Christensen made it 42-0 on a 27 yard run to the end zone in the third quarter.Walker-Hackensack-Akeley scored a fourth quarter TD to put the final at 42-7.

The Bulldogs will host Breckenridge in the Section 6A semifinals at 2:00pm Saturday in Battle Lake.
