Evan Lindgren got things started off right with a 77-yard kick-off return for a touchdown, his second straight game with a return for a TD.  The Comets led 6-0 after one quarter.

With 2:51 left in the first half Caden Fisher increased the lead to 12-0 with a one yard TD run and Endre Okland booted the point after for a 13-0 advantage.  A 3 yard pass from Charles Kleindl to Jens Jorgenson with just seven seconds remaining in the second quarter put the halftime score at 13-6.

In the third quarter Lindgren scored on a 10 yard run and Okland tacked on the extra point for a 20-6 Hillcrest lead.  With 20 second left in the quarter Lindgren scored again, this time on a 2 yard run.  With the Okland PAT Hillcrest took a 27-6 lead into the fourth quarter.

Lucas Collins scored an insurance TD on a 4 yard run with 3:05 left in the game for a 33-6 lead for the Comets and CGB closed out the scoring on the day when Kleindl hit Cole Gilsdorf for a 43 yard score with 1:12 on the clock.  A two-point conversion run by Juan Villarreal made the final score 33-14, Hillcrest.

Lindgren finished with 129 yards on 23 carries and Fischer ran for 42 yards on 6 attempts, while passing for 78 yards, completing 7-of-14 passes.  Collins ran for 42 yards on 11 attempts.  Joel Bowman had 4 receptions for 56 yards.  Defensive leaders were Gavin Knutson (10 tackles, 4 assisted tackles). Micah Bermel (9 tackles, 3 assisted tackles) and Collins (5 tackles, 2 assisted tackles, fumble recovery).

Hillcrest will host Sebeka in an opening round Section 4 9-Man playoff game on Tuesday night in Fergus Falls.

C-G-B will play at Verndale in their quarterfinal contest on Tuesday.
