The season ended on Monday night in Sauk Centre for the Fergus Falls girls’ soccer team as they were shutout by St. Cloud Cathedral 3-0 in the Section 8A championship game.

Cathedral scored early in the first half on a shot that hit the crossbar and went into the net.  They scored again early in the second half off a shot from the 20 that floated over the head of the Otters keeper.  The Crusaders ended the scoring off a corner where they played a short ball and crossed it into a crashing teammate who put it in.

“This was a great team to be a part of,” commented Fergus Falls Head Coach Ben Jurgens.  “We had great leaders, we had great work ethic, and we had players that would play wherever the team needed them to play.  Many of these seniors have been with us for six years and to say goodbye to them tonight was very difficult.  It will be our pleasure as coaches to watch them in both their winter and spring seasons.  They are a great group of competitors.  We are so proud of them.”

Fergus Falls ends the season with a record of 7-7-4.
