The West Central Area/Ashby Knights rallied from a 22-6 deficit on Friday night but came up short in Osakis as the Silverstreaks recorded a 22-20 victory, handing the Knights their first loss of the season.

Evan Paulson hooked up with Cole Anderson for a pair of touchdowns, covering 10 and 6 yards.  Paulson also connected with Carson Spangler on a 69 yard TD pass.  The Knights made only one of three two-point conversion tries as Paulson hit Anderson on the successful attempt.

West Central Area/Ashby compiled 258 yards of offense with 246 coming via the pass.  Paulson was 14-for-24 throwing the football for 206 yards and 3 TD’s.  Anthony Sykora completed both of his pass attempts for 40 yards.  Sykora was held to 19 rushing yards on 9 carries as the Silverstreaks shut down the Knights running attack, holding them to just 12 rushing yards in the game.  Anderson was the leading receiver with 5 catches for 53 yards and Spangler caught two passes for 76 yards.  Defensively, Torin Olson picked off a pair of passes and Sykora also had an interception.  Sacks were recorded by Mattson Hoff and Tyler StoneHunter Norby led the team with 8 tackles (7 solo, 2 assisted).

“It was a tough test and unfortunate to play so hard and come up just short,” stated Head Coach Nate Wood of the Knights. “But it gets the monkey of being undefeated off our back. Records don't matter in playoffs, we just have to keep working on getting better!”

Bauer Klimek scored a rushing touchdown from 2 yards out and hauled in a 24 yard TD pass from Kyle Mages for a pair of Osakis scores.  Drew Imdieke scored the other Osakis TD on a 1 yard run.  The Silverstreaks also converted a pair of two-point runs by Mages.

Mages completed 6-of-9 passes for 64 yards.  His leading receiver was Klimek (4 receptions, 50 yards, TD).  Imdieke led the powerful ground game with 114 yards on 21 attempts and Tyson Hagedon added 93 yards on 17 carries.  Carter Jacobsen led the defense with 5 solo tackles and an interception.

The Knights will host Underwood in their regular season finale on Wednesday at 7:00pm in Barrett.
