There was no stopping the Brandon-Evansville football team on Friday night as they treated their hosts rudely on the way to a 66-6 win at Bertha-Hewitt.  B-E led 22-0 after one quarter, 44-0 at the half and 58-0 after three quarters on the way to the victory.  The Chargers had 449 yards of total offense with 341 coming on the ground.  Their defense had 5 takeaways (2 fumble recoveries, 3 interceptions) on the night.

"Great game in all phases tonight,” assessed Brandon-Evansville Head Coach Tim Pattrin.  “The line adjusted to the defense they were seeing and blocked very well.  Our backs ran hard and were difficult to tackle.  Titus Fuller threw the ball well and our receivers made some great catches.  It was great to get everyone into the game for a total team win.  We will enjoy this win and get ready for the quick turn around and a tough Verndale team."

Titus Fuller went 49 yards for the games’ first touchdown with 9:45 left in the first quarter.  A two point conversion run by Tyler Bitzan gave the Chargers the early 8-0 lead.  Seven minutes later Fuller connected with Stevie Hamilton on a 45 yard scoring pass for a 14-0 lead.  Fuller’s 25 yard run and a two point conversion run by Ryland Yeats with 1:15 left in the quarter made it 22-0.

At 10:30 of the second quarter Bitzan crossed the goal line on a 7 yard run to increase the Chargers lead to 28-0.  Fuller and Hamilton then connected on a 29 yard TD pass with six minutes to play in the half.  After another two point conversion run by Yeats the Chargers lead was 36-0.  With just thirty seconds remaining Fuller hooked up with Dezmond White on a 12 yard scoring toss and Bitzan scored on the two point conversion run to hand B-E a 44-0 halftime advantage.

In the third quarter, Yeats punched the ball in from the one yard line with 2:15 on the clock for a 50-0 lead.  Just 45 seconds remained when Sully Wales recovered a blocked punt in the end zone and Logan Haburn carried the ball into the end zone for the two point conversion and a 58-0 lead after three quarters.

Wales scored on a 6 yard run with nine minutes left in the game and White followed with a successful two point conversion run and a 66-0 lead.  Bertha-Hewitt scored on a 2 yard run by Cayden Kimber with three seconds remaining for their only points of the night.

Fuller completed 6-of-11 passes for 108 yards and 3 TD’s.  Hamilton caught two TD passes for a total of 74 yards to lead the receivers.  Fuller (7 attempts, 112 yards, 2 TD’s) and Bitzan (9 carries, 100 yards, 1 TD) both cracked the century mark on the ground, while Yeats ran for 72 yards and a TD on 11 rushing attempts.  Lucas Fuller led the defense with 8 solo tackles and an interceptions.  Bitzan and Titus Fuller each had a pick and Will Englund had a sack on his own and shared a sack with John Roers.

Bertha-Hewitt was led by Kobe Hinzmann (9 completions, 16 attempts, 94 yards) and Kole Weishalla (6 receptions, 50 yards).   The Bears had 239 yards on the night, 119 rushing and 120 passing.

On Wednesday night the Chargers will face Verndale in Brandon, while Bertha-Hewitt plays at Hancock.
