Green Wave Shut Down Yellowjackets 14-0

East Grand Forks held Perham to just 77 total yards on Thursday night as the Green Wave shutout the Yellowjackets, 14-0.  Perham had 65 rushing yards and only 12 passing yards, acquiring only 3 first downs on the night.

 

Following a scoreless first half of football, East Grand Forks got on the board with 7:41 left in the third quarter when they went 73 yards in 7 plays and scored on a one yard run by Tanner Campos.  Justin Overgaard added the extra point kick for a 7-0 Green Wave lead.

 

With 7:51 remaining in the game Joey Vatava scored on a 2-yard run and Overgaard tacked on the extra point for a 14-0 East Grand Forks lead.


East Grand Forks rand for 230 yards on the night, distributing 48 carries among six backs.  Caleb Schmiedeberg led them with 71 yards on 10 carries.  Overgaard had 47 yards on 11 tries and Campos ran for 43 yards on 13 attempts.  Campos also completed 2-of-5 passes for 22 yards.  Defensively, Vatava recovered a fumble and Campos intercepted a pass.  Benny Boushee, Spencer Egeland and Tanner Nowacki each recorded a sack.

Perham was led by Braylon Rach with 18 yards on 4 carries.  Colton Hackel completed 3-of-12 passes for 12 yards.  Defensively, Jacob Daniels recorded a sack and also recovered a fumble.  Levi Richter forced a fumble and Brian Ramos led in tackles with 8 solo tackles and two assists.
