Perham never trailed in Osakis on Friday night, but the Yellowjackets had to withstand a 20 point fourth quarter by the Silverstreaks to leave town with a slim 29-28 victory.  Perham improved to 4-2 with the win and Osakis suffered their first loss in six games.

The Yellowjackets scored with 2;47 left in the opening quarter on an 8 yard run by Chas Melvin and a Colton Hackel kick to take a 7-0 led.

Hackel then ran the ball into the end zone from 3 yards out with 9:52 left in the first half and followed that TD run with a two-point conversion run, giving Perham a 15-0 lead.  Bauer Klimek hauled in a 70 yard pass from Kyle Mages on the first play of the next drive and Osakis was on the board.  A Mages two-point conversion run cut the Perham lead to 15-8 at halftime.

In the third quarter, Braylon Rach scored on a 17 yard run and Hackel’s PAT kick made it a 22-8 lead for the Yellowjackets.

Osakis started the fourth quarter with an 11-play, 64-yard scoring drive, capped by a Drew Imdieke 2 yard run, cutting the Perham lead to 22-14.  Following a Bauer interception, Imdieke carried the ball over the goal line from the 4 yard line, bringing Osakis within two points at 22-20 with 9:28 to play in the game.  The Yellowjackets increased the lead to 29-20 when Noah Thompson went 73 yards with ensuing kick-off and Hackel tacked on another extra point kick.

Osakis made it a one point game when Tyson Hagedon caught a 4 yard TD pass from Mages with 48 second left and Mages then hit Klimek with the two-point conversion pass.

Perham finished the night with 252 (138 passing, 114 rushing) total yards, while Osakis had 401 yards of offense, 259 through the air and 142 on the ground.  The Silverstreaks had 21 first downs in the contest and had possession of the football for over 30 minutes.

Colton Hackel ran for a team high 33 yards on 13 carries and completed 3-of-11 passes for 112 yards to lead the Yellowjackets.  Hackel moved into a tie with Jordan Hein for most career touchdowns scored with 47.  Josh Peterson caught all three of his completions for 112 yards and also completed his only pass attempts for 26 yards to Melvin.  Defensively, Jacob Daniels and Blake Lorentz each recorded a sack, while Hackel and Levi Richter had interceptions and Daniels recovered a fumble.  Gordon Lee Enyart Martinez had a team high 12 tackles, including 9 solo tackles and 3 tackles for loss.

Osakis sacked Hackel three times with Chayce Meyer sacking him twice and Mages getting credit for the other sack.  Offensive leaders for the Silverstreaks were Hagedon (9 carries, 59 yards), Imdieke (18 carries, 55 yards), Klimek (6 receptions, 163 yards), Carter Watnaas (6 receptions, 52 yards) and Mages (18 completions, 24 attempts, 259 yards).
