Arndt's Big Night Leads OTC to Sixth Straight Win

The Ottertail Central Bulldogs exploded for 34 first quarter points, led 41-6 at the half and went on to record their sixth straight victory with a 47-12 trouncing of the Staples-Motley Cardinals on Friday night in Henning.

Tanner Arndt had a big night for OTC, completing 13-of-19 passes for 233 yards and a pair of TD’s and running for 49 yards on 2 carries, both of which went for touchdowns.  Owen Buehler was the leading receiver with 80 yards on 3 receptions and Calvin Stueve was the top rusher with 60 yards on 6 attempts.  The Bulldogs had 472 (233 passing, 239 rushing) total yards in the game.

Arndt got the scoring started with a 43 yard run and Buehler booted the extra point kick for a 7-0 lead.  Buehler than caught a 40 yard scoring toss from Arndt before adding his second PAT kick for a 14-0 lead.  Another Arndt TD pass and Buehler kick put the score at 21-0.  TD runs by Steuve (2 yards) and Bricker Bladow (10 yards) and one more Buehler kick gave the Bulldogs their 34-0 lead at the end of the quarter.

In the second quarter Staples-Motley got their first TD on a 3 yard pass to make it a 34-6 game.  Arndt’s 6 yard run and Buehler’s kick got the lead up to 41-6 at halftime.

Stueve’s 7 yard run in the third quarter made it 47-6 and a 70 yard TD pass for the Cardinals put the final score at 47-12.  Staples-Motley had 198 total yards with 143 coming through the air and 55 on the ground.

Ottertail Central will play at Frazee next Friday night.
