Wolverines Notch Quarterfinal Tennis Win Over Roseau

Wadena-Deer Creek swept the singles matches and won two of the three doubles matches on Thursday as they captured a 6-1 win over Roseau in the Section 8A Tennis Quarterfinals.

#4 – Kaylee Endres (WDC) def. Ava Hass (ROS) 6-1, 6-1

DOUBLES
#1 – KatieRae Fiemeyer/Anna Fiemeyer (WDC) def. Jessie Danielson/Erin Brandt (ROS) 6-1, 6-1
#2 – Mercedes Schulz/Kayla Meeks (WDC) def. Hope Grafstrom/Maddy Verbout (ROS) 6-1, 6-1
#3 – Marissa Glodowski/Emma Johnson (ROS) def. Kelly Muckala/Jamie Barthel (WDC) 6-1, 6-1

The Wolverines will now prepare to face top-seeded Park Rapids in a semifinal contest on Tuesday, October 12 at 9:00am at Courts Plus in Fargo.  Number two seeded Crookston and third-seeded Staples-Motley will play the other semifinal at 10:30 that morning with the two winners clashing for the title at 1:00pm.

In the individual tournament, senior Madison Packer is the number three seed and sophomore Libby Hartman of the Wolverines is seeded fourth.  Their first round matches are scheduled for the morning of Wednesday, October 13 at Courts Plus.

The doubles team of senior Corra Endres and eighth-grader Anna Fiemeyer is seeded third and the doubles team of junior Mercedes Schulz and sophomore Katie Fiemeyer is seeded tenth.  They will play their first round matches on Wednesday, October 13.
