The M State Men’s Golf team finished as runners-up at the Cougar Invite on Saturday. The tournament was hosted by UM-Morris at Pomme de Terre Golf Course in Morris. Martin Luther College won the event with a score of 331 and M State was next at 337. The host team finished third with a score of 359.
Paul Frick of Martin Luther College was the medalist with a 78. Grant Inniger shot an 82 to lead the Spartans. Hunter Burnside (84), Joel Quam (85), Mikey Vall (86) and Sam Western (95) rounded out the team scoring for M State.
Audra Ewan led the Spartan women with a 99. Medalist honors went to Payton Sierra of Morris with an 89. UM-Morris won the women’s team title with a score of 370.
The Spartans will next compete in a dual competition with Concordia JV on Tuesday at Moorhead Country Club.
