Prowlers Defeat Otters on Late Field Goal

A 29 yard field goal by Brayden Spears with under three minutes to play in the game lifted the Thief River Falls Prowlers to their first win of the season as they defeated the previously unbeaten Fergus Falls Otters 10-7 on Friday night at the Otter Stadium Field in Fergus Falls.

 

The Otters struck first on a 71 yard pass from Carter Thielke to Cole Zierden in the opening quarter.  Jaydon Manteufel added the extra point kick.

The Prowlers tied the game on a 21 yard pass from Caleb Rosendahl to Braedon Potucek.  Spears added the extra point, making it 7-7.

Thief River Falls ran the football 45 times for 147 yards, led by Kaden Grindeland with 76 yards on 19 carries.   Potucek added 57 yards on 17 attempts.  The touchdown came on the Prowlers only pass of the game.

Fergus Falls had 276 yards of offense, 230 coming through the air.  Thielke completed 16-of-26 passes.

Fergus Falls (3-1) will play at Perham next Friday night.
