Knights Blank Pillager 34-0

Evan Paulson threw for 175 yards and a pair of touchdowns and the West Central Area/Ashby defense forced 3 fumbles in their 34-0 shutout of Pillager on Friday night in Barrett.

The Knights got on the board first when Paulson connected with Anthony Sykora on a 42 yard touchdown pass for a 6-0 lead.  Carson Spangler then tackled Devin Frovarp in the end zone for a safety, giving WCA/Ashby an 8-0 lead.  Sykora then broke loose for a 40 yard TD run and a 16-0 lead after one quarter of play.  Paulson hooked up with Ryder Staples on a 16 yard scoring toss and the Knights had a 20-0 halftime lead.

Hunter Norby scored on a 5 yard run and Paulson on a 3 yard run in the third quarter.  Sykora scored on a two-point conversion run following the final TD of the night.

West Central Area/Ashby finished with 307 total yards (132 rushing, 175 passing).  Paulson completed 7-of-11 passes with Cole Anderson on the receiving end of 3 of them for 62 yards and Norby catching two for 55 yards.  Sykora had one reception for 42 yards.  Sykora led the rushing attack with 108 yards on 17 carries.

Defensively, Reubens Swanson had 8.5 tackles and Carson Spangler had 7.

Pillager had 178 yards (163 rushing, 15 passing).  They were led by Quintin Laveau with 82 rushing yards on 15 carries.  Frovarp completed 3-of-4 passes for 15 yards and Jacob Dixon caught two passes for 16.  Elijah Miller had an interception and Zachary Macheel led the team with 6 solo tackles.
