The New York Mills Eagles only got to play four games last fall, but all four went in the win column.  “Just being able to play four games was a highlight,” said Head Coach Matt Radniecki, now in his 28th year.  “We were pretty good and we had a lot of fun!” Radniecki is assisted by Bryan Dunrud, Eric Niemi and Peder Butenhoff.

The Eagles lost Daunte Leiran (Jamestown), John Ronning, Caleb Dresser, Nolan Cassidy and Jace Rudolph to graduation.

Returning starters include seniors Bren Salo, Noah Noffsinger, Jonah Johnson, Dane Niemi, Cody Barthel, Eathan Ruther, Braeden Peterson, Jacob Guck and Hunter Rust.  Juniors Will Oakes, Brayden Ehnert and Jonah Ruther, and sophomore Sam Kopveiler are all expected to assume varsity roles this season.

“We have a good group of skilled players coming back with experience,” noted Coach Radniecki.  “We need some young linemen to step up for us this year.  Depth is an issue and we need to develop it.”

Radniecki sees Walker-Hackensack-Akeley, Wadena-Deer Creek and Breckenridge as teams to beat in Section 6A.
