The Ottertail Central 13U Dawgs beat Perham 8-2 on Saturday, moving into the Babe Ruth State Championship game at 12:30pm Sunday at New York Mills.  The Dawgs have had four players named MVP so far in the tournament.  Drew Evavold, Kaleb Hammes, Kale Misegades and Ryan Despard have led the way both offensively and defensively, as well as on the mound.

Ayden Olson (4IP, 6H, 2R, 1ER, 1BB, 1K) started the game against Perham and picked up the win.  Hammes (3IP, 4H, 1BB, 3K) earned the 3-inning save.

Head Coach Ryan Hendrickson said, “With having won our first four games in a total of 20 innings, we were able to save all but Quenton Beske for pitchers moving into bracket play.  So far, that has really paid off.  Our pitching has been fantastic and over powering.”

Even though the pitching has gotten a lot of credit, the bats were also very lively for OTC as they had 11 hits, drew 9 walks and stole 4 more bases.

“On top of playing really well, our team effort and mentality has been spot on,” shared Hendrickson.  “We have 20 guys trying to accomplish one team goal and it has been really fun to be a part of.  I am just really fortunate to get to be a part of their mission.  Everybody is in it to win it!”
