13U Otters Finish Pool Play 3-0 after Wins Over Breckenridge and Waite Park

The Fergus Falls 13U Babe Ruth team won a pair of games on Friday to finish pool play with a record of 3-0 at the Babe Ruth State Tournament.  The Otters beat Breckenridge 10-0 in six innings in their first game and then defeated Waite Park, 9-2.

Parker Thielke went 4-for-4 at the plate with 3 runs batted in against Breckenridge, and Rowan Cheshire was 2-for-3 with a triple.  Cheshire (2.1IP, 3H, 0R, 1BB, 1K) was also the winning pitcher.  Draftees Landon Sullivan (2.2IP, 2H, 2BB, 4K, 0R) and Marshall Dewey (1IP, 2K, 2H) from PRBA finished up on the mound for Fergus Falls.

Jackson Conklin (4IP, 6H, 2ER, 0BB, 1K) got the win in game two with Dewey (1.2IP, 1H, 0R, 1BB, 1K) and Cam Wiederich (1IP, 0H, 0R) also pitching.  Quinn Wynn-Sheldon led the way at the plate with 3 hits in 4 at bats and a run batted in. Thielke (2-3, 2RBI) and Jacob Fronning (2-3, 2RBI) also turned in top hitting performances.

Fergus Falls will face Paynesville at 10:00am Saturday in the opening round of bracket play.  A win will advance them to at 5:30pm contest, while a loss will eliminate them from the tournament.
