The Ottertail Central 15u baseball team earned their way into the final day of the Lake Region Babe Ruth South District Tournament with a pair of wins on Friday.  They are now in the final 3 teams remaining in the tournament and will play either Fergus Falls or Parkers Prairie on Saturday at 2pm in Evansville.

OTC recorded wins of 4-2 over PRBA 1 and 13-7 over PRBA 2 to advance in the tournament.

In the first game OTC scored twice on a base hit by Soren Floden who finished the day 2-for-4 at the plate.  Teddy Grabe led OTC with 2 of their 7 stolen bases.  The win went to Gavin Pausch (7IP, 2R, 5H, 3K, 0BB).  Carter White went 3-for-3 to lead PRBA 1 at the plate.

Against PRBA 2, OTC broke loose for 7 runs in the third inning.  Floden contributed an RBI double, Eric Fick and Collin Lukken added RBI singles and Lane Dilly drove in 2 runs with a base hit in the inning.

Garrett Kuhn-Rice (5IP, 8H, 5R, 4K, 1BB) was the winning pitcher and Owen Harig threw two innings of relief.  Dilly was 3-for-5 at the plate and Lukken led OTC with four of their 15 stolen bases in the game.

“We played great baseball today, led by our pitching from Gavin, Garrett and Owen,” noted OTC Head Coach Evan Meece.  “Our bats came alive and we put together clutch at bats.  We were solid defensively and aggressive on the base paths.  We’ll continue to move forward with this momentum and battle back tomorrow.”
