The Ottertail Central 13U Dawgs won their first two games of the 13U State Tournament and get a bid into the weekend bracket play.  The Dawgs had to place at least 2nd place out of their 4 team pool to move on to the weekend single elimination bracket to compete for the state championship. By winning both of their games Thursday they will automatically advance to the bracket tournament Saturday at Mills or Deer Creek.  The Dawgs will next play, and host, on Friday vs Paynesville to up their seed for the bracket play this weekend.

Kale Misegades (3IP, 4K, 0BB, 0H) and AJ Woodworth (Draftee from Parkers Prairie) combined to no-hit Staples-Motley 12-0 in the first game with Woodworth inducing a ground out to end the game in the fifth inning, completing two hitless innings of relief.

OTC got on the board in the first inning when Drew Evavold singled home a run.  The Dawgs took control of the game by scoring six times in the fourth inning with Misegades, Ayden Olson, Kaleb Hammes, Bradyn Roisum and Ryan Despard all knocking in runs.

Ottertail Central Coach Ryan Hendrickson said, "Our pitching and defense were on point today.  I couldn't ask for anything more than they gave, a competitive attitude and complete focus.  On top of great pitching and defense, our base running was pretty awesome.  We were able to be really aggressive, taking 12 stolen bases, putting ourselves in great position to score."

Misegades turned in a 4-hit game against Detroit Lakes with 3 singles and a double.  Olson (3IP, 1H, 0R, 4K, 0BB) was the winning pitcher and Quenton Beske threw two innings of relief.

OTC tallied 15 hits and Olson led the team with 3 steals.
