13U Dawgs Win Twice to Extend Winning Streak to 9 Games

By defeating Alexandria on Thursday night at Tony Kawlewski Field in Henning, the Ottertail Central 13U Dawgs have won 9 straight games and now boast an overall record of 16-4.  Coach Ryan Hendrickson comments, “We are playing our best baseball right now, and at a good time.  We have our District Tournament starting already next week and the State Tournament the week after.  We are hoping to make a good run to finish.”

The Dawgs defeated Alexandria with the trifecta of good pitching, defense and a solid offensive attack.

In their 12-2 opening game win, OTC pulled away with a five-run third inning, highlighted by a 2-run single by Bradyn Roisum an RBI double by Braxtyn CameronAyden Olson, Roisum and Quenton Beske all had RBI hits in a five-run fourth inning for OTC.

Kale Misegades (5IP, 2R, 9H, 2K) was the winning pitcher for the Dawgs.  OTC had 9 hits in the game, led by Misegades, Roisum and Olson with two hits apiece.

In game two, OTC won 9-7 with Stetson Knutson earning the win in relief.  Talyn Setterholm and Bradon Grabe each collected hits to lead OTC.  The Dawgs also recorded 7 steals in the game, led by Ryan Despard with two.

OTC goes to Detroit Lakes on Tuesday and will then participate in the District Tournament in Breckenridge Friday through Sunday.  The top two teams from both the North and South will advance to the State Tournament the following weekend.
