Dre Roberts threw five innings of one-hit ball on Tuesday to lead New York Mills to an 11-4 win over Sebeka in the quarterfinal round of the Class A State Baseball Tournament at Putz Field in St. Cloud.  Roberts struck out 8 batters and didn’t walk anyone.

Sebeka struck first as Isaac Kyllonen reached on an error with one out in the top of the fourth inning and crossed the plate ahead of Spencer Lake on Lake’s two-run homer to left field.  It was the only hit allowed by Roberts in his outing.  The Eagles responded by erupting for nine runs in the bottom of the fourth and never looked back.  Roberts got things started with a one-out single.  Courtesy runner Jonah Ruther advanced to second on a Brenn Salo single and both runners moved to third base on a throwing error.  Brayden Ehnert singled home Ruther and Salo went to third and then scored on a throwing error.  Cade Rudolph delivered a single with Ehnert taking second.  Both runners moved up on a wild pitch.  Jace Randolph reached on a fielder’s choice, driving in a run in the process.  Rudolph advanced to third with Ehnert scoring.   Randolph stole second and Guck walked to load the bases. Lucas Grabow pinch-ran for Guck and Jonah Johnson brought home two more runs with a base hit. Johnson and Grabow both advanced on a wild pitch and Derin Gaudette scored both runners with a ground rule double to center field.  Abe Carlson singled to move Guadette to third and then Carlson stole second base.  A single by Roberts brought Gaudette home and moved Carlson to third base.  Roberts then stole second and was out at home trying to score on a Salo double.  The Eagles scored 9 runs on 9 hits in the inning and took a 9-2 lead.

New York Mills added a pair of fifth inning runs to increase their lead to 11-2.  Cade Rudolph led off with a walk and Jace Rudolph was hit by a pitched ball.  Both runners moved up on a wild pitch with Cade scoring on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Guck and Jace moving up to third base.  Jace then scored on a sacrifice fly by Johnson.

Sebeka scored the final two runs of the game in the seventh inning.  Levi Stevens singled with one out and advanced to second on a fielding error.  Mason Heino tripled to drive in pinch-runner Eion Ness and Heino then scored on an error.

Gaudette (2-4, 2B, 2 RBI, R),  Roberts (2-3, RBI), Salo (2-4, 2B, RBI R), Johnson (1-2, 3 RBI, R) and Cade Rudolph (1-2, 2R) led the Eagles at the plate.

Sebeka was led by Lake (1-3, HR, 2 RBI, R), Heino (1-3, 3B, RBI, R) and Stevens (1-3).
