Porter and Stanislawski Combine to No-Hit Wildcats

Mitch Porter (6IP, 11K, 2BB, 0H) and Darin Stanislawski (1IP, 0H) combined on a no-hitter Saturday afternoon at American Legion Field at DeLagoon Park in Fergus Falls, leading the Hurricanes to a 10-0 win over the Dent Wildcats.

The Canes scored their first run in the bottom of the third inning.  Arik Heacox was hit by a pitch leading off the inning.  After a fly out, Sean McGuire singled Heacox to third base and Tosten Mann drove him in with a base hit.

Porter and Austin Stanislawski led off the fourth inning with back-to-back singles and Carter Thielke reached on an error to load the bases.  Heacox singled home Porter and a wild pitch scored Stanislawski.  Jack Hiedeman reached on an error with Thielke scoring.  A Darin Stanislawski sacrifice fly scored Heacox with the fourth run of the inning.

The Hurricanes scored three more times in the bottom of the sixth.  Sean McGuire doubled to led off and Tosten Mann reached on an infield error with McGuire taking third base.  A second sacrifice fly by Darin Stanislawski scored McGuire.  Nic Pearson drew a walk and Porter singled in Mann.  Austin Stanislawski was issued a walk and a Carter Thielke ground out scored Pearson.

Fergus Falls ended the game by the ten-run rule with a pair of runs in the bottom of the seventh.  Hiedeman singled to lead off and scored on a double by Mann.  After a ground out moved Mann to third base, Nic Pearson drove him home with a line drive single, ending the game.

Mann (2-4, 2B, 2R, 2 RBI), Porter (3-3, R, RBI) and Heacox (2-3, 2R, HBP, RBI) led the Hurricanes offensively.

Next up for the Canes is the Elrosa Tournament where they will face the Sartell Muskies at 10:00am on Saturday, June 19.
