The Ashby Arrows played their fifth and sixth playoff games on Thursday in New York Mills.  After falling behind 2-0 in their first game of the day against Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg, Ashby came back to score 12 runs on their way to a 12-2 six inning win.  In game two of the day, Ashby faced New York Mills with the prospect of having to beat the Eagles twice to advance to the State Tournament.  New York Mills scored 5 runs in the first inning and held on to post a 6-3 win over the Arrows, claiming the Section 6A title.

After the shaky start in game one, Evan Paulson came on in relief and shut down KMS over 6 1/3 innings of work on the mound.  Torin Olson hit a home run in the fourth inning that gave Ashby a 5-2 lead.

Carter Spangler was good in relief against New York Mills, pitching 5 innings and allowing just one run.  Ashby trimmed the Eagles led to 5-3 with a pair of fourth inning runs, but could get no closer.

Ashby finished the year 24-3 with the three losses being by a total of 5 runs.  The Arrows thank seniors Jaden Norby and Miles Hoff for their leadership and hard work and wish the Eagles good luck at the Class A State Tournament.
