Facing elimination Wadena-Deer Creek received a gem of a pitching performance from Josh Dykhoff as he struck out eight in a 5-0 complete game 2-hit shutout of the Perham Yellowjackets on Thursday afternoon.  The win forces a rematch between the two teams to decide the Section 8AA championship in a game to be played at 5:00pm Friday in Wadena.  The Wolverines had beaten Roseau 8-4 earlier in the day to earn the right to play in the championship round.

Four Perham errors led to 3 unearned runs off of Finn Diggins (7IP, 5H, 5R, 2ER, 8K, 3BB), who took the loss.

Connor Davis (2-3, 2 RBI), Dykhoff (1-4, RBI, R), Peyton Rondestvadt (1-4, RBI) and Isaac Hamann (1-4) collected the hits for WDC.  Tony Kreklau walked, was hit by a pitch, stole a base and scored a pair of runs.

Rian Solberg and Austin Aanenson each had a single for Perham.
