OTC Junior Legion Opens Season with 11-8 Win Over Osakis

Ottertail Central opened up scoring in the first inning.  OTC scored two runs when Owen Buehler singled.

Ottertail Central scored four runs in the fourth inning.  The offensive onslaught by Ottertail Central Junior Legion was led by Hunter Haugen, Buehler, and Garrett Nelson, all driving in runs in the inning.

Osakis scored four runs in the seventh inning.  The offensive onslaught by Osakis was led by Aaron Kallstrom, Kyle Mages, and Wyatt Sell, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Buehler was the winning pitcher for Ottertail Central. The right hander lasted four and a third innings, allowing five hits and three runs while striking out six.  Haugen threw two and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Ben Berger took the loss for Osakis. The hurler lasted three and a third innings, allowing six hits and nine runs while striking out four.

Ottertail Central racked up 11 hits in the game.  Buehler, Tyson Misegades, Kale Misegades, and Haugen each managed multiple hits for Ottertail Central Junior Legion.  Misegades and Buehler each collected three hits to lead OTC.

Osakis collected ten hits on the day.  Tyler Baumgartner and Sell all had multiple hits for Osakis.

“This was a fun way to kick off the summer season,” said OTC Head Coach Randy Misegades. “Our guys banged the ball around and we made the plays in the field behind our pitchers. Owen and Hunter did their job and gave us some solid innings on the mound.  We’re right back at it tomorrow as we host Crosby-Ironton for a double header at 5:00.”
