Buccaneers Knock Owls Out of Section 6A Baseball Tournament

Border West recorded a 5-2 victory over the Hancock Owls in their Section 6A baseball playoff game on Tuesday.  The Buccaneers added a single run in the sixth and held on for a 5-2 win, eliminating the Owls from the tournament. 

Jake Volker (6.1IP, 6H, 2ER, 6K, 2BB) was the winning pitcher.  Offensive leaders for Border West were Brady Nachbor (2-4, SB, RBI), Nate Moberg (1-3, RBI), Eli Larson (1-2, RBI, R, 2SB) and Isaac Haanen (2BB, 3SB, R).

Kody Berget drove in both Hancock runs with a triple in four at bats.  Preston Rohloff had a single, a double, a stolen base and a run scored.  Rohloff (5IP, 4H, 2R, 1ER, 7K, 4BB) and Berget (1IP, 1H, 3R, 3ER, 2K, 3BB) pitched for the Owls.

The Buccaneers will now face KMS at 2:30pm Thursday in Ortonville.
