Wolverines Come From Behind to Beat Perham for 13th Straight Win

Wadena-Deer Creek came from a 3-2 deficit after five innings to defeat Perham by the score of 4-3.  The Wolverines tied the game with a run in the sixth and then pushed across the go ahead run in the top of the seventh.  Josh Dykhoff (5.2IP, 4H, 3R, 1ER, 13K, 4BB) started on the mound for the visitors, but reliever Connor Davis (1.1IP, 0H, 0R, 0K, 1BB) got the win.

 

Dykhoff had 2 hits in 4 at bats to lead an 8-hit attack by the Wolverines.  Zach Shaw, Isaac Hamann and Davis each delivered run-scoring singles for WDC.  Peyton Rondestvedt had a double in four at bats and scored two runs.  Tony Kreklau and Corbett Wensman each had a hit and scored a run.  Shaw and Hamann each stole a base for Wadena-Deer Creek.

Perham had just four singles on the day. Ben Shumansky and Logan Pulju each knocked in a run with a base hit, while Andrew Smith, Chas Melvin and Rian Solberg each scored a run for the Yellowajckets.  Melvin and Jack Mensing each had a single.  Melvin (6.1IP, 8H, 4R, 4ER, 7K, 0BB) took the loss for Perham and Caden Schossow recorded the final two outs.
Wadena-Deer Creek (18-2) finishes the regular season on a 13 game winning streak.

Perham (17-3) had their eight game winning streak snapped with the loss to the Wolverines.
