Brandon-Evansville swept a Wednesday double header from West Central Area in Barrett, winning 15-4 and 13-3.

Winning pitcher Dezmond White surrendered two runs on four hits over three innings, striking out three batters.

B-E took a 1-0 lead on a sacrifice fly by White, however, WCA tied the game in the bottom of the first when Jordan Lohse singled to drive in a run.  Riley Perleberg’s RBI single in the second put the Chargers ahead 2-1 and they added a run in the third to increase their lead to 3-1.  Four runs crossed the plate in the top of the fourth to make it a 7-1 lead.  Brandon-Evansville led 8-2 when they notched seven runs in the top of the sixth.  West Central Area scored their final two runs in the bottom of the sixth to put the final score at 15-4.  The Knights were hurt by 8 errors.  Lohse led the Knights at the plate, going 3-for-3.  Kyle Schaffran went 3-for-5 and stole four bases to lead the Chargers.

“I thought the offense really did some good things in this game by executing some bunts and being smart on the bases,” shared B-E Head Coach Brian Perleberg.  “Dezmond White and Brady Perleberg pitched well and the defense backed them up all game long.”

Tyler Bitzan (4IP, 0R, 3H, 3K, 1BB) improved his record to 7-2 with a win in the second game.  The Chargers racked up 14 hits with Brady Perleberg and Carter White leading the way with three hits each.  Colton Lindquist led WCA with two hits in three at bats.

“Tyler Bitzan gave us four quality innings and the offense did their job which allowed us to put together an early lead and I was extremely happy to see the defense play errorless ball,” said Coach Perleberg.  “Everyone made major contributions in one way or another, including the guys that came off the bench.  It was a true team win and hopefully we can carry some of this momentum into the playoffs next week.”
