Brandon-Evansville got on the board with a run in the top of the first inning on Monday, however, Parkers Prairie answered with five runs in their half of the first with the big hit coming from Brock Peterson’s 2-run home run.  The Panthers went on to post a 14-4 win over the Chargers.

B-E scored three times in the top of the second on a bases clearing hit by Dezmond White, cutting the Panthers lead to 5-4.  Parkers Prairie broke the game open with a huge third inning, scoring seven runs and never looked back.  Peterson was the winning pitcher for the home team.

“It was just one of those days where it felt like what could go wrong did go wrong,” said Brandon-Evansville Head Coach Brian Perleberg.  “We managed to bounce back after a tough first inning, but couldn’t close the door when we needed to.  Their hitters did an excellent job of putting the ball in play and their defense played well behind Peterson.  We learned a few more things that can make us better and that’s why we play.  Now we just need to apply those lessons moving forward and maintain a positive mindset.”

Leaders at the plate for the Chargers were Tyler Bitzan (1-2, BB), White (1-2, 3 RBI) and Riley Perleberg (1-2).

B-E (12-6) will wrap up their regular season with a double header against West Central Area on Thursday in Barrett.
