Swerman Holds Otters to 3 Hits as Cardinals Win 5-1

The Fergus Falls baseball team lost a road game in Alexandria on Thursday night, falling to the Cardinals by the score of 5-1.  The Otters could only muster three hits against Devan SwermanAbel Aho, Arik Heacox and Bryce Burrill collected those hits with Heacox producing the only run for Fergus Falls with his fourth home run of the season in the fourth inning.

Carter Thielke pitched well, but took the loss, allowing 3 earned run on 7 hits, walking two and striking out five in his six innings of work.

“This was a well-played high school baseball game,” stated Fergus Falls Head Coach Kevin Pearson.  “We once again made some mistakes in one inning that cost us three runs.  Thielke and Swerman were both impressive on the mound tonight.”

The next game for the Otters is Tuesday night against Bemidji at American Legion Field at DeLagoon Park.
