Brandon-Evansville traveled to Hancock for a Pheasant Conference softball double header on Tuesday and the Chargers claimed both games, winning 11-3 and 14-3 (5 innings).

Mikenna Pattrin (7IP, 5H, 3ER, 2BB, 9K) was the winning pitcher in the first game.  Bailey Schaefer (4-5, 2R, 7 RBI, 2 3B, 2B), Sydney Schaefer (1-3, 2R), Taylin Kramer (1-2, 2R), Kylee Dingwall (2-3, 2 RBI) and Kiley Lund (1-4, RBI) were the offensive leaders for B-E.

“We started out strong today with a single from Taylin Kramer and then a triple by Bailey Schaefer to bring her in,” reported Brandon-Evansville Head Coach Kasi Sieling. “Kylee Dingwall was able to bring in Bailey with an RBI single to get us a 2 run lead in the top of the first inning that we were able to carry through the game. Mikenna threw a solid game and did a nice job of hitting her spots. The defense worked well and made nice plays throughout the game. We were able to work out of a bases loaded situation in the 2nd inning and were able to step up and make key plays to get out of the 6th inning after they got 2 more runs.”

Bailey Schaefer continued swinging a hot bat as she drove in 5 runs with a pair of home runs in game two, giving her 12 runs batted in on the day and finishing 6-for-8 at the plate with 17 total bases in the double header.  Sydney Schaefer (2-4, RBI, 2R), Mikenna Pattrin (3-4. 2 2B, 2 RBI, 2R), Morgan Bitzan (2-2, 2 RBI, R) and Kaytlyn Pattrin (1-2, 2B, 2 RBI, 2R) were also big offensive contributors.  Taylin Kramer (3.2IP, 2H, 3R, 2ER, 6BB, 5K) was the winning pitcher and Mikenna Pattrin (1.1IP, 0H, 1K) finished the game in the circle.

“We were able to find our groove in the batters’ box in the second game,” commented Coach Sieling.  “Battling through some rain and the elements is never easy, but Taylin did a nice job of working through it and keeping runners off the bases.  We saw contributions from every one of our batters in the second game and they all did a nice job of hitting the ball hard to move runners ahead.  These were two huge team wins against a tough team.”
