Knight Boys win Quad County Golf Championship

The West Central Area Knights Boys golfers won the Quad County Conference championship at Tipsinah Mounds on Monday, May 17th. 

WCA won the event with a score of 334, followed by Hillcrest 345, Border West 369, OTC 383, Ortonville388, Pillager 392, Underwood393, Rothsay 418, Long Prairie-Browerville-Incomplete, Ashby-incomplete.

Individual medalist honors went to Joel Quam of Hillcrest Lutheran Academy who fired a 76.  Trevor Swonger of Underwood was second with a 77, followed by Mitch Dewey of WCA with a 79.  Bryce Grabinski of Hillcrest was fourth with an 82, Grant Beuckens of the Knights was fifth with an 83 and OTC’s Carter Dilly won a 3-person playoff to take sixth with an 85.

“Joel made a great Birdie putt on the last hole to beat Trevor by one,” reported Underwood Head Coach Chuck Ross. “Not much you can do about that.  Trevor has been solid all year and unfortunately lost out for conference MVP by one stroke as well   Time to get ready for the section tourney coming up in June.  Trevor is looking forward to it.”
