Stephenson and Wiley Dominate as Vikings Continue to Improve

Pelican Rapids Viking track and field athletes took to competition in Glyndon this past Thursday and faced breezy conditions as they continued their track season. 

Tori Stephenson enjoyed her most successful day ever in the hurdles winning the 100 hurdles in a time of 18.52 and then returning in the 300 hurdles to win in a time of 50.62.  Tatianna Wiley also enjoyed a strong day winning the 100 meter dash (13.1), the 200 meter dash (27.77) and the Long Jump (17'1").  The pair capped off the day by helping Anna Stephenson and Kelsey Isaman win the 4x400 meter relay in a time of 4:24.12.

In other areas of the meet, the 4x800 meter relay of Kelsey Isaman, Lexie Pixley, Brenna Davis, and Emily Martinez got the team off to a strong start on the day with a 2nd place finish in a time of 12:09.73.  Kylee Holt was 3rd in the 100 meter hurdles (22.25) while the 4x200 meter relay team of Rachael Guler, Torie Jugovich, Ashlee Mull and Kajelina Luttrell finished 3rd with a time of 2:10.99.  The 4x100 meter relay team of Guler, Lizzy Moe, Kelsey Isaman and Hannah Fosson, also placed third with a time of 59.28.  Brenna Davis (3rd, 62.71) and Kylee Holt (4th, 65.23) both placed in the hurdles.  Janae Laferriere finished 5th in the Shot Put with a toss of 26'6.5".  Emily Martinez (6'0") and Rachael Guler (5'6") finished 3rd and 4th respectively in the Pole Vault.  And Anna Stephenson finished 2nd in the High Jump equaling her season best jump of 4'10". 

The girls finished 3rd as a team with 85 points.  They will travel to Perham this week for the final regular meet in the HOL conference series before traveling to Hawley next week for the HOL Conference Championships.
