The M State baseball team saw their season come to an end on Saturday in St. Cloud in the Region XIII Tournament. The Spartans needed 11 innings to advance with an 8-6 win over Vermilion on Saturday afternoon, however, they were eliminated by Rochester in their second game of the day and fourth game of the tournament. The Yellowjackets scored 7 runs in the sixth inning to complete an 11-1 ten-run rule victory.
Wyatt Hamann (3-5, HR, 2 RBI, R, BB), Kyle Doup (2-7, 2R) and Justin Dykhoff (2-5, 2B, BB, 2R) were the hitting leaders in game one. Austin Oetter walked 3 times, singled, scored a pair of runs and drove in a run with a sacrifice fly.
The Spartans scored their only run of game two on a two-out single by Michael Maanum and a double by Doup. Hamann had two hits in three at bats.
M State finishes the season with a final record of 17 wins and 22 losses.
