Huskies Top Bulldogs, 7-5, OTC JV Team Wins Twice

The Ottertail Central Bulldogs fell to the Pillager Huskies in a high school baseball contest in Pillager on Friday, losing 7-5. 

 

Conner Hanson delivered a run-scoring single in the first inning to give the Huskies the early lead.  The home team pulled away for good with four runs in the third inning.  Cole Hiltner knocked in a run with a single, Eli Miller doubled home a pair of runs and the final run of the inning scored on a ground ball off the bat of Eli Shingledecker. Griffin Decker went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the Huskies.  Gabe Grimsley (6IP, 8H, 4R, 8K) was the winning pitcher and Miller earned the save with one strong inning of relief.

Kayne Cameron (5IP, 9H, 6R, 3K) took the loss for OTC.  The Bulldogs had ten hits, led by Cian Buehler with 3 hits in 4 at bats.

On Thursday the Bulldogs won a pair of JV games, beating Brandon-Evansville 7-1 and West Central Area 14-4.  Owen Buehler (5IP, 1R, 2H, 2K, 1BB) got the win on the mound against the Chargers.  Tyson Misegades (2-2, 2SB) was the offensive leader for the Bulldogs.  Jayden Harig, Owen Buehler and Garrett Nelson each had a pair of runs batted in.  Harig (4IP, 6H, 4R, 6K) was the winning pitcher against WCA and Drew Evavold threw two innings of relief.  OTC had ten hits in the game, led by Lane Dilly (3-4).  Evavold had a pair of hits for the Bulldogs.  Quinton Winter drove in a pair of runs for the Knights was a first inning single and Bryce Kjesbo collected two hits in three at bats.  Kjesbo added two steals.
