It was a tough week for West Central Area baseball as they battled two tough team, Ashby and Morris, losing 8-5 and 8-2 to the Arrows on Thursday and 11-1 to the Tigers on Friday.

“I thought we played pretty well against Ashby,” said WCA Head Coach Andrew Koloski. “We had a couple costly errors defensively and just couldn’t get a hit in crucial moments. We had guys on base just couldn't drive them in. Colton Lindquist had a 2 run home run in game 2 that made the score 4-2 heading into the top of 7. Ashby came out and scored 4 in top of 7 to seal the win.”

Jordan Lohse (1-3, 2B, 2 RBI, R, SB) and Reubens Swanson (1-2, RBI, R, SB) were the hitting leaders in game one of the double header.

“Against Morris on Friday night we struggled to get anything going,” stated Coach Koloski. “We had some errors defensively that kind of just snowballed.”

Anthony Sykora was 2-for-3 at the plate with 3 stolen bases and a run scored.

“We are looking forward to get back in action this week with a game against Browerville on Tuesday and a doubleheader with Border West Thursday,” concluded Koloski.
