Viking Girls' Team Continues Progress in Barnesville

The fourth meet of the HOL Conference Series took place this past Thursday in Barnesville and the Pelican Rapids Track and Field team continued to show development and progress with top performances on the day.  Tori Stephenson got things kicked off running an all-time best (17.57) in the hurdles and placing 2nd overall.  Also running personal bests in the race were Kylee Holt (6th, 20.18) and Brenna Davis (9th, 22.36). 

Tatianna Wiley ran the 100 meter dash for the first time this year and smashed her previous personal best to win in a time of 12.62.  This was followed by the 4x200 meter relay where Rachael Guler, Lizzy Moe, Kelsey Isaman, and Hannah Fosson finished 4th with a season's best time of 2:07.99, and in the 4x100, the team of Guler, Ashlee Mull, Kajelina Luttrell and Torie Jugovich finished 4th with a season's best time of 1:00.97. 

Tatianna Wiley came back in the 400 meter dash to win in a season's best time of 1:01.82, while Lexie Pixley was 5th in a time of 1:13.41.  Tori Stephenson made her second appearance of the day with an impressive come from behind victory in the 300 hurdles, running a personal best of 50.39 on the way to the win.

The 4x400 closed out the day on the track with a come from behind victory.  The team of Tori Stephenson, Kelsey Isaman, Anna Stephenson and Tatianna Wiley ran their best time of the year with a 4:22.87. 

In the Field events, Wiley won the Long Jump with a leap of 15'1.5" while Anna Stephenson was 4th in the High Jump with a jump of 4'8".  Janae Laferriere had a breakout day in the Discus, finishing 2nd with a personal best throw of 73' and then finished 3rd in the Shot Put with a toss of 27'0". 

The Vikings finished 4th as a team and now prepare to compete in Glyndon on Thursday.
