Spartans Lose to Rochester in Regular Season Finale

The Rochester Yellowjackets scored runs in the first four innings of their game at M State in Fergus Falls on Sunday, building a 12-2 lead on the way to a 13-3 victory over the Spartans.

Rochester was led at the plate by Gabe Sepulveda (4-5, 2 RBI, 3R, SB), Jovan Marrero-Soto (4-5, 3R), Cole Outlaw (3-3, HR, 2 RBI, 3R), Izaak Stevens (2-4, 3 RBI), Shota Sawamura (2-4, 2B, 2 RBI, R) and Devin Knudson (1-4, 2 RBI).  Landon Stoppelmoor (3IP, 3H, 2R, 2ER, 3BB, 4K) was the winning pitcher.  Alex Dietl (3IP, 2H, 1ER, 1BB, 4K) was sharp in relief and Paxton Gravlin struck out two batters in a scoreless inning out of the pen.

Ty Kargar launched a solo home run for M State and Wyatt Hamann delivered a 2-run double, going 2-for-2 at the plate.  Justin Dykhoff was 2-for-3.

The Spartans end their regular season schedule with a record of 15 wins and 20 losses.  They will enter post season play in St. Cloud on Friday with game time and opponent yet to be determined.
