Brandon-Evansville defeated West Central Area twice in a doubleheader played in Brandon Friday night, winning 10-5 and 15-0 in five innings.

Winning pitcher Mikenna Pattrin struck out ten WCA hitters and walked only one in the opener.  Bailey Schaefer (2-3, 2B, 3R, 2 RBI), Kiley Lund (1-4, 2 RBI), Sydney Schaefer (1-5, 2B, R), Kaytlyn Pattrin (1-1, RBI), Korrie Randt (1-5, R) and Mikenna Pattrin (1-4, 2R) were the leading hitters for B-E.

“We did a nice job of hitting the ball hard and capitalizing on defensive miscues,” noted Brandon-Evansville Head Coach Kasi Sieling.  “The girls were aggressive on the bases and moved each other around to get runs in.  Defensively, we struggled to make the plays, but made enough to limit their runs in the first six innings.  Mikenna threw a good game and we were able to get the outs when we needed them.  WCA kept fighting and put together a late 7th inning rally, but we were able to get the outs, leave runners on base and finish the game.”

Taylin Kramer allowed only one hit, while striking out four and walking two in pitching a five-inning shutout in game two.  The Chargers were led at the plate by Kylee Dingwall (3-3, 2 RBI, R, 2B), Bailey Schaefer (2-4, 2B, HR, SB, 2 RBI, 3R), Sydney Schaefer (2-4, 2B, 2 RBI, R), Kramer (2-4, SB, RBI, 3R), Lund (2-4, RBI, 3R) and Mikenna Pattrin (1-3, 2B, 2SB, RBI, 3R).

“We were able to get things started early with a double by Sydney and then a 2-run home run over the center field fence by Bailey,” reported Coach Sieling.  “Our defense played clean to back up Taylin in the circle throughout this game, allowing only five base runners.  Offensively, we saw contributions from everyone throughout the lineup to add runs in every inning.  These were two big wins for us in the Pheasant Conference and nice to see the girls play together and rebound from a tough loss early in the week.”
