M State was swept by Northland Community College in a baseball double header on Wednesday in Thief River Falls.  The Pioneers won 18-1 in the opener and took the nightcap by the score of 10-0.

Dane Schwirtz blasted a solo homer in the top of the first inning, but that was the lone run of game one for the visiting Spartans.  Northland hit four homers in the game and Pioneer pitching held M State to five hits as the game was decided by the ten-run rule in 5 innings.  Justin Dykhoff had a double and Christian Norby recorded 2 hits in 3 at bats, including a double.

The Pioneers connected for three more home runs in their 10-0 six-inning win in game two, holding the Spartans to just five singles.

M State will host Rainy River in a double header beginning at 1:00pm on Wednesday in Fergus Falls.
