Alexandria traveled to Bemidji for a baseball double header on Tuesday evening dropping both games to the Lumberjacks by scores of 5-2 and 10-0.

In game one Shay Endres started for the Cards pitching 5.0 innings allowing 5 runs (3 earned) on 9 hits.   Endres walked no Lumberjack batters and struck out 3.    JD Hennen pitched the final inning allowing just one hit.  Endres was charged with the loss.

“We collected a total of 8 hits in the game with Brock Lerfald and Devan Swerman each picking up two hits,” reported Head Coach Jacob Munsch.  Other Cardinal hitters included Caleb Runge, Lake Hagen, Devin Cimbura, and JD Hennen.    The Cards threatened in the final inning of the game having bases loaded but the Lumberjacks were able to strike out the final two batters leaving our runners stranded.

Game 2 was completely controlled by Bemidji as free bases, extra outs, and no offense allowed the Lumberjacks to cruise to a 10-0 victory.   Devan Swerman started the game and was tagged with the loss pitching just 2 innings and allowing 5 earned runs.  He gave up 5 hits, walked 2, and struck out 2.  Parker Jendro relieved Swerman going 2 innings allowing 5 unearned runs on 5 hits.  Devin Cimbura pitched 1 innings allowing 1 hit, and striking out 1 batter.

“Offense was non-existent as the Lumberjacks allowed no hits in the game,” commented Coach Munsch. “They also didn't walk any batters and struck out 6. We continue play this Thursday as we travel to St. Cloud Tech for a 7:00 p.m. game at St. Cloud Tech High School.”
