The Ottertail Central Bulldogs scored 18 runs on Monday as they defeated the Frazee Hornets by the score of 18-11 in a high school baseball contest.  An eight-run third inning got the Bulldogs on their way to the win.  Jayden Harig contributed a run-scoring single, while Hunter Haugen and Chris Rinicker each delivered a 2-run double in the inning.

Coach Ryan Hendrickson commented, “It was really great to see our bats come alive and even more important we were hitting with runners in scoring position.  We were able to collect 12 RBI by hitting with runners on base, which has been a big focus of ours as of late.”

Tyson Misegades was the winning pitcher.  The lefthander went three innings, allowing nine runs on five hits and striking out two.  Owen Buehler and Cian Buehler entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Joey Kupfer led OTC with 4 hits in 5 at bats, which puts him in the record book, tying him with 20 other players for second most hits in a game.  Harig collected 3 hits for the Bulldogs.

“We looked really good at the plate tonight, with 8 guys earning RBI’s and four guys with 2 RBI’s apiece, now that’s clutch!” exclaimed Hendrickson.

Frazee had six hits with Wiley Bachmann and Broden Fleisher collecting multiple hits.  Brock Barlund led Frazee with four steals as they ran wild on the base paths with ten stolen bases.

OTC won the JV game, 12-3.  Lane Dilly two hits and scored 3 runs.  Drew Evavold threw a complete game, giving up only one hit, fanning six batters and not allowing an earned run.
