The Alexandria girls’ golf team played host to nine schools at Geneva Golf Club on Saturday as all of the players were able to enjoy warm weather and mild wind conditions.  “Some enjoyed the conditions a little too much, as they will be treating some mild cases of sunburn,” related Alexandria Head Coach Tim Zupfer.  “The Cardinals had some record performances again today as Hannah Boraas shot a career best, school record tying score of 69.”

Her 69 placed her in second place as Lauren Contreras of Maple Grove shot a 4-under par round of 68 to claim individual honors.

Alexandria claimed the team honors with a very impressive team score of 306, 8 shots better than Maple Grove’s 314.

“Hannah’s score of 69 ties Maggie Leland for the school record,” reported Coach Zupfer.  “Maggie shot that score twice, once at Mississippi National and a second time in the State AAA meet at Bunker Hills.  This was a very busy week for the team, but they were happy to play two meets on their home courses this week.”

Other Alexandria scores included a 75 for Cora Larson, who tied for fourth place, a career best 79 for Aisling O’Connor who finished seventh, an 83 for Lauren Rebrovich, who placed ninth, a 93 for Ellie Sticha and a 99 for Isabella Hagen.

The Cardinals will head to Brainerd on Monday for a Central Lakes Conference Meet and will participate in another CLC event on Thursday at Pebble Lake Golf Course in Fergus Falls.
