The Brandon-Evansville softball team outscored Hillcrest Lutheran Academy 26-1 in their double header sweep on Thursday at Hannah Park in Fergus Falls.  The Chargers won the opener 10-0 and took the nightcap 16-1 in a pair of shortened contests.

Mikenna Pattrin tossed a 5 inning no-hitter in the first game.  Leading hitters were Sydney Schaefer (1-3, 2R), Bailey Schaefer (1-1, HR, 3 BB, RBI, 3R), Korrie Randt (1-4, R), Kaytlyn Pattrin (1-3), Kylee Dingwall (1-3) and Mikenna Pattrin (1-2, 3R, 2 RBI).

“Mikenna threw an excellent game in the opener, allowing only one base runner,” reported B-E Head Coach Kasi Sieling.  “Offensively, we hit the ball hard and took advantage of extra opportunities to move girls around.”

The Chargers had 10 hits in the second game and received 4 no-hit innings from Taylin Kramer, who struck out six batters and walked six batters, while allowing one earned run.

“We received another strong pitching performance from Taylin Kramer in her first start of the season,” said Coach Sieling. “Offensively we were able to get things going early to take the lead. Hillcrest put some pressure on in the 3rd inning with patient batters to load the bases with walks. We were able to work out of that inning only allowing 1 run and stranding 3 runners. In the bottom of the third inning we batted around twice, which was started by a single by Kiley Lund. We were patient in the box to collect 5 hits and draw 9 walks to open this game up. The girls played well tonight to secure the sweep in this conference doubleheader.”

Lund (2-4, 2R, RBI), Mikenna Pattrin (2-3, R, 3 RBI), Bailey Schaefer (2-2, 2R, 2 RBI), Sydney Schaefer (3-3, 3R, 2 RBI) and Kylee Dingwall (1-2, 2R, RBI) were the hitting leaders for Brandon-Evansville in game two.
