Cardinals Sweep Otters in CLC Softball Double Header

Fergus Falls hosted Alexandria in a Central Lakes Conference softball double header on Thursday with the Cardinals winning 13-7 in the first game and taking game two by the score of 9-3.

Nine Fergus Falls errors led to 8 unearned runs in the first game.  The Otters led 7-2 after three innings, however, Alexandria tied the game with five in the fourth, took the lead with one run in the fifth and then took control of the game with a five-run sixth inning.  Emily Harris (3-5, 2B, RBI, 4R), Emma Magaard (3-5, 4 RBI, R) and Aubrie Porter (2-5, RBI, R) led the offensive attack for the Cards.  Fergus Falls was led at the plate by Lizzy Moxness, Madilyn Budke, Rylynn Krein and Kacey Fredrickson with two hits apiece.  Tori Ratz delivered a run-scoring double and Karyssa Eberle scored a pair of runs for the Otters.  Budke, Krein, Fredrickson, Gabby Brimhall and Moxness each drove in a run, while Ratz, Laci Strom, Krein, Fredrickson and Brimhall all scored once.

In the second game the Otters jumped out to a 2-0 first inning lead.  Alexandria scored a single run in the second, added 3 in the fourth and expanded their lead with a five-run sixth.  The Cards outhit the Otters, 9-3.  Porter (3-3 RBI, R), Magaard (2-2, RBI, 3R) and Held (1-3, 3B, 3 RBI, 2R) were the hitting leaders for Alexandria.  Emily Harris (7IP, 5K, 0BB, 3H, 3R, 0ER) went the distance to get the win in the circle.  Rylynn Krein had two hits and 2 RBI to lead the Otters.  Ratz scored a pair of runs.
