Owls Sweep Double Header from Knights

The Hancock baseball team won a pair of games from West Central Area on Tuesday, winning 10-7 and 5-1. 

Preston Rohloff fired a 2-hitter in the 5-1 win in game one for the Owls, striking out 15 batters and issuing just one walk.  Rohloff also went 2-for-3 at the plate with a run batted in and a run scored.  Kody Berget and Adam Shaw added RBI hits and Dain Schroeder was 2-for-3 with a run scored.  Brayden DeSmith contributed a double and scored a run.

The Knights scored their only run on a single by Reubens Swanson and a double by Colton Lindquist in the first inning.  Trent Koloski (6IP, 7H, 5R, 3ER, 8K, BB) took the loss for the Knights.

WCA scored seven runs in the fifth inning, but Hancock tied the game in the sixth and then took the lead in the top of the seventh to record a 10-7 win in game two.

The Owls were led by Adam Shaw (3-4, 3B, 2 RBI, 2R), Rose (2-5, 2 RBI, 2R), Dain Schroeder (2-4, 2 2B, 4 RBI, R) and Devon Schroeder (2-4, R).  Hudson Ver Steeg (3IP, H, 2R, 1ER, 6K, 1BB) came out of the bullpen to get the win.

Leaders for West Central Area were Swanson (2-4, 2 RBI, R, SB), Anthony Sykora (1-3, RBI, R, SB), Lindquist (1-4, RBI, R) and Jordan Lohse (1-3, R).

The Knights will play a double header at Ortonville on Thursday, April 29 and the Owls will play a double header at Ortonville on Thursday, May 6.
