The Frazee girls’ track and field team lost three key members of their team after their COVID season that never was, however, they do have some key varsity contributors returning who have had some great success in their high school careers.

Jim Jacobson will begin his thirteenth season as Head Coach without three key members of his 2019 team.  Two of them, Paige Ziegler (U of Mary) and Jaryn Johanssen (Wisconsin-Eau Claire) are continuing their track and field careers in college, while the third, Paige Oswald (Jamestown) will play volleyball collegiately.

Jacobson welcomes back senior Ellie Reierson (member of state placing sprint relay team), juniors Rylee Moore (sprint relay member) and Braylee Riewer (distance runner) and freshman Hailey Selly (Member of school record 4 x 400 relay team – 2019).

“With only four days of practice last year and no season, things are very up in the air,” said Coach Jacobson.  “We lost a lot of athletes who were key components to a lot of our success.  We have a lot of talent this year, but are uncertain yet as to where things will shake out.  We will be a young team this year, which is always exciting!”

Boys Head Coach Brian Tangen will assist, working with the sprinters and high jumpers.  Other Assistant Coaches include Jim Rader (long jump, triple jump), Russ Hackel (shot put, discus), Jeff Johannsen (hurdles) and Todd Larson (Junior High Boys and Girls).
