Nik Gardin and Brennan Amundson lost out on their senior seasons of baseball for the Ottertail Central Bulldogs last spring due to COVID19.  Both would have had significant playing time and Nik was a captain and would have been a 2-year starter.  Even though they didn’t get to play a season, Head Coach Ryan Hendrickson feels that their commitment level through the pandemic will serve them well entering this season.

“I was surprised how engaged our team was during an Online Baseball season,” said Hendrickson.  “We had a successful summer program where our 15U team hosted the state tournament at our beautiful Henning complex.  We are all very excited to get 2021 underway and we have a good mix of veteran leadership and young, eager guys fighting for starting positions.  Coming off a strong summer program we are looking to be competitive again this year.  We are varsity inexperienced, but have some very good ball players coming in.”

Senior Captains Cian Buehler (3B, C, P), Kayne Cameron (3B, C, P) and Wyatt Severson (1B, P) are returning starters for the Bulldogs.

Other players in the varsity mix include seniors Krosby Aasness (OF), Brayden Guy (IF), Buddy Kohlmeier (OF), Joey Kupfer (OF) and Chris Rinicker (IF), junior Izic Albright (IF), sophomores Jayden Harig (IF, C, P), Hunter Haugen (IF, C, P) and Tyson Misegades (OF, P), and freshman Lane Dilly (IF, P) and Gavon Pausch (IF, P).

Hendrickson will be assisted by Evan Meece (Junior Varsity), Mark Oscarson (Junior High), Dakota Aeling (Junior High) and Randy Misegades (Assistant).

“Our conference (Park Region) and section (8AA) are both loaded with tough baseball teams,” noted Hendrickson.  "Parkers Prairie and Wadena-Deer Creek should be the conference favorites, while Perham and DGF will be very tough again this year in the section.”
