Otter Girls Beat Frazee for Thirteenth Straight Win

Fergus Falls forced 25 Frazee turnovers on Wednesday night, capitalizing on many of them on the way to a 68-40 victory over the Hornets in the playin round of the Section 8AA playoffs.  The Otters shot 49% (27-55) for the game and held Frazee to 36% (14-39) shooting.  Each team made 10 3-point field goals on the night.

Tori Ratz connected on six 3’s and finished with a game high 24 points to go along with 4 rebounds and 5 assists.  Ellie Colbeck came up with 11 steals and scored 22 points, while dishing out 7 assists and snaring 5 rebounds.  Paige Pearson and Hannah Polejewski led the Otters with 7 rebounds apiece.

“Always great to get the first tournament win of 2021,” said Head Coach Brad Strand of the Otters.  “Give credit to Frazee as they made ten 3’s!  We are excited about having the opportunity to play Roseau on Friday night in the Gold gym.”

Three Hornets were in double figures, led by 13 points from Dani PicheAnissa Antonsen had 12 points on four 3’s and Annika Reierson added 11 points.  Piche and Reierson each made three shots from beyond the arc.

The win was the thirteenth straight for the Otters who are now 16-3 as they prepare to host the Roseau Rams in the quarterfinal round on Friday night.  Roseau (8-11) beat DGF 58-40 on Wednesday.
