In the win over the Huskies Tate Olson recorded another double-double with 26 points and 15 rebounds. Jonah Johnson added 13 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists, Noah Noffsinger had 12 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists, and Derin Gaudette contributed 10 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists. Breck Hensch chipped in with 9 points, 3 rebounds and 2 steals.
“It was tight the whole way and a very physical game,” stated New York Mills Head Coach Jason Boe. “We needed a close game like this as we go into the playoffs. Our boys earned this win.”
Leaders in the win against Bertha-Hewitt were Olson (15 points, 4 rebounds, 4 steals), Gaudette (14 points, 3 assists, 2 steals), Jace Rudolph (10 points, 6 rebounds, 5 steals), Cale Rudolph (10 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists) and Chase Keskitalo (10 points, 4 rebounds). Trey Gilster added 6 points and 4 steals.
“We were able to play everyone and celebrate our seniors,” noted Coach Boe. “It was a good night for our program. Also, our C-team ended their season with a 9-3 record and our JV team finished 13-4.”
The Eagles won their last 11 games and finished the regular season with a 15-2 record. They won the Park Region Conference with a mark of 12-1.
